George M. Milby, a native of
Charleroi, has coached basketball on nearly every level and most
recently has served as director of the basketball program for the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He began his high school coaching career at Connellsville and also
coached at Ligonier, Martins Ferry, Ohio; Oak Hill Academy in Virginia
and Bella Vista (CA) High School.
On the college level, he has served as head coach at Bay City Junior
College in Michigan and John F. Kennedy College in Nebraska and as an
assistant at LaSalle University.
Milby has also served as a Scout for the Philadelphia 76ers, and in
various positions with the Baltimore Claws of the American Basketball
League; Anchorage Knights and Memphis Sounds of the Continental
Basketball Association, in addition to coaching assignments in Munich,
Germany and for San Juan, Puerto Rico. His career coaching record for
all levels is 561-151.
