Keith R. (Rod) Sim, winner of the
1992 meritorious achievement award, was an outstanding amateur boxer
with a 36-0 record while serving in the Marine Corps. He also achieved
an outstanding record as a wrestler and later coached boxing and
wrestling at Brownson House. In his youth, he also competed in baseball,
basketball, football and track and field.
Sim has long been active in the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and in
1990 was elected to the state executive committee after serving three
years as President of the Washington-Greene chapter.
He has been involved in numerous community organizations and was honored
by Goodwill Industries for service to disadvantaged children and adults.
He was recipient of the Special Award at the 1992 Washington County
Coach of the Year banquet.
