With an 8-1 record, Canonsburg's 1950 Football Team met New Brighton
High for the Class A Conference Title. the hard fought game ended in a
12-12 tie and the teams were named Co-Champions.
The Canonsburg Gunners' placed three linemen (Harold Hunter, Don Anthony
and Nick Kapottas) and three backs (Sam Karavolias, Leonard Papetti and
George Anthou) on the 1950 Southwestern Conference Team, the most of any
team.
