MOSES BAILEY

2003 - YOUTH SERVICE
 
Moses Bailey was born in Birmingham, Ala. His family migrated to Washington, PA when Moses was 3-years-old.

A standout athlete at Trinity High School, he earned nine letters, three each in football, baseball and track. Moses was named to the All-Conference football team in his junior and senior years and was named to the Pennsylvania Big 33 team his senior year.

Moses enlisted in the U.S. Army and played football for the 7th Infantry Division and was named to the All-Army Team in 1962. In 1965 he played football for the Pennsylvania Mustangs, a minor-league professional team.

Moses volunteered to coach Midget football for Clark School, in the Brownson House League and coached in the program for more than 12 years. In 1980, he became an assistant coach and equipment manager for Washington High School under Coach Guy Montecalvo and remained with the team through the 2002 season.

From 1994 through 2002, Moses was an assistant track coach. He was named the Washington High School's boys head track coach in 2003.

Over the past 40 years, Moses dedicated himself to the youth of the entire Washington community. Because of his involvement with the youth in this community, many have been the recipients of his mentoring and good works.

Moses and his wife, Becky, reside in Washington and are parents of a daughter, Nita Lynn.
