Sherrie A. MacKinney, graduate,
University North Carolina (Chapel Hill), One of Trinity High School's
outstanding athletes. Sherrie was a two time WPIAL and PIAA Champion, a
TAC National Runners-up and a 1983 High School All-American. She set the
Trinity Javelin Record, 157'8".
At North Carolina, Sherrie was a 1984, 1986 and 1988 NCAA Nationals
Place winner. A 1984 Atlantic Coast Champion, the 1988 Penn Relay
Champion, Collegiate All-American and Olympic Trial Qualifier for the
1988 games. She set the University of North Carolina javelin record,
174' 8".
Sherrie started her coaching career at Phillips Junior High, Chapel
Hill, N.C., and after one year came back home to coach Trinity Middle
School, where she coached for seven years. Sherrie currently serves as
Track Coordinator at Trinity High School.
