2005 - BASKETBALL

A graduate of Waynesburg High School where she was a four-year letter winner in basketball. A three year All-Section and a three year All-District and the Washington/Greene County Senior All-Star - Most Valuable Player. Tammy completed her high school career scoring 1592 points. 930 rebounds, 244 steals and 482 assist. She was a perimeter player for California University of Pennsylvania, leading the Lady Vulcan's to their first winning season as an NCAA Division II affiliate during her sophomore year. As Cal's leading scorer in 1988-89 she guided the Lady Vulcan's to their first three post-season appearances in 1987-1988, 1988-1989 and 1989-1990. She had a knack of making last second game winning shots. "Mac" finished her college career by scoring 1,122 points, and was only the fifth Lady Vulcan, at that time, to reach the 1000-point plateau. In addition, she had 516 rebounds, 230 steals and 206 assist. "Mac" was a two time (1988 & 1990) All-PSAC All-Star, two time (1988 & 1990) ALL-ECAC All-Star and was a two time (1988 & 1990) NCAA Division II All-American. She earned her B.S. in Secondary Education and M.S. in Mentally & Physically Handicapped at California U. of PA. and a Certificate: Supervision of Special Education, University of Pittsburgh. Her coaching career began as assistant coach of women's basketball at California U. of Pa. (1990'92) and was followed by coaching at Chartiers-Houston Jr. High, Pine Ridge, FL. head coach, Girls Basketball in Seabreeze, FL, and as an assistant at Waynesburg, West Greene and Trinity High Schools. She has been a PIAA Basketball Official since 1988 and served on the Board of Directors Tournaments, Inc. PONY World Series and is currently involved in youth AAU basketball. She is listed in the 1998 Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Inducted into the California University of Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 1995, and Teacher of the Month - Pine Ridge High School, December 1994 and March 1995, Rookie Teacher of the Year, Council of Exceptional Children, 1995, and in 1991 received the Distinguished Service Award, California University of Pennsylvania. She currently is the Director of Special Education at the Central Green School District.
