One of the most prolific high school
softball pitchers ever in the WPIAL and PIAA, labeled the "Queen of
no-hitters" by the Observer-Reporter's Bob Grove. She led Chartiers-Houston
to two consecutive AA WPIAL Softball titles in 1987 and 1988, and also
led the team to four consecutive section titles and a PIAA final
appearance in 1987, the first in school history.
Her career statistics in high school are, regular & post-season, 70 wins
and 7 losses for a outstanding winning percentage of .909, had 519
strikeouts and 182 walks in 476 innings, ERA .43. Pitched 1 perfect
game, 13-no hitters, 10-one-hitters and 12-two-hitters along with 30
shutout games. Won 25 consecutive games and pitched 3 consecutive
no-hitters. She posted a .382 batting average. Graduated 3rd. in her
class with a 3.97 GPA.
Tricia holds the PIAA record of 13 no-hitters, and the WPIAL record for
pitching wins, 70 and holds all of Chartiers-Houston's pitching records
for wins, strikeouts, no-hitters, one-hitters, opponents batting average
and ERA. She was the Pittsburgh Post Gazette Athlete of the week, three
time All-Star, the WPWFSL All-Star and Most Valuable Player,
Pennsylvania State Keystone Games Gold Medalist, KDKA Extra Effort Award
and the Al Abrams YMCA Athletic; Academic Award.
A starting pitcher for The University of Charleston, W.VA. 1988-1992.
She was a West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 1st. Team
All-Conference, Pitcher of the Year, Top Scholar Athlete, Top Female
Scholar Athlete of the year, The University of Charleston Senior Scholar
Athlete and Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year (chosen from all athletes
at the university) and an Academic All-American.
On the University of Charleston's Deans list (8) consecutive semesters,
a National Deans List Member, Who's Who Among American Universities and
Colleges, All-American Scholar, Graduated Suma Cum Laude from the
University of Charleston
Head softball coach at Mt. Lebanon High School 1997-2003 where she
compiled a record of 81-51 winning three section titles. Became the head
softball coach at Chartiers-Houston High School in 2004 and in two
seasons posted 41 wins and 7 losses, winning two section championships,
a WPIAL Third Place and PIAA Quarterfinals in 2004, the WPIAL
championship and PIAA Runners-up in 2005. Her career record stands at
122 wins and 60 losses for a winning percentage of 670.
