Trinity High’s “Boy Wonder” was the 1970 138# PIAA wrestling champion
who pinned his opponents in both the semi-finals and finals . He holds
the unofficial record of the shortest amount of wrestling time to win a
PIAA wrestling title.
A 1970 & 1971 section champion, WPIAL champion and the PIAA Silver
Medallist at l38# and was a member of the Trinity 1970 & 1971 WPIAL Team
Champions. He was invited to train with the United States Olympic
Development team in 1970. Scott received over 50 college scholarship
offers his senior year and chose not to attend college at that time. He
did attend Moorehead College for one year, 1974.
Miller has been coaching gymnastics since 1978, working with Danny
Warbutton for 28 years at the Gym Dandys. He has been the head coach of
the entire Gym Dandys program for the past five years. He has coached 12
National qualifiers and has coached 25 teams that were Western
Pennsylvania team champions, 9 Pennsylvania State champions, 9
Tri-¬State Team titles, 3 All-Around Champions and had over 20 gymnasts
place in the top 3 on individual Regional events. In 2006 he had a
Regional Beam champion gymnast place 2nd. on bars and one tied for first
on he vault.
