Armand C. Dellovade

Humanitarian Award
Armand Dellovade was born January 24, 1938, in Avella, Pennsylvania, the
son of the late Armand and Ann Dellovade. He graduated from Avella High
School in 1957 and attended the University of Pittsburgh from 1957
through 1960, majoring in industrial engineering.
In 1960 he was employed by Plasteel Products, Inc. as an iron worker on
major projects throughout the Northeast United States, eventually rising
to East Coast Superintendent. Dellovade was promoted to General
Superintendent of all construction for Plasteel in 1969, serving in this
capacity until 1973.
In May of 1973, A. C. Dellovade, Inc. was incorporated as a metal siding
construction company. Since then, DeMiGa Corporation, Sunbelt Erectors,
Inc., Dellovade Fabricators, Dellovade Leasing, Greenmoor, Inc., and
Icon Exterior Building Solutions have been added, each specializing in
the same related industry and operating in specific areas of the
country. These companies currently comprise the largest single siding
entity in the Continental United States and have completed some of the
largest projects in the country, including the MX Missile Space Shuttle
Complex, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, and Intermountain Power
Project in Delta, Utah, the largest power plant in the United States.
Dellovade was selected as the Golden Panther Man of the Year in 1983 by
the University of Pittsburgh. He was also president of the Southwest
Chapter of the Pitt Golden Panthers, as well as being one of the
universities’ largest boosters, receiving a Member of Distinction Award
for his efforts and contributions on their behalf. Other honors include
the 1985 Washington County Italian Man of the Year, the 1998
Entrepreneur of the Year in Western Pennsylvania for construction, the
1999 Pittsburgh Italian-American Scholarship Fund Man of the Year, the
Italian-American Hall of Fame Man of the Year in 2000, and the Saints
and Sinners Club Man of the Year in 2004.
A long-standing member of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce,
Dellovade is an active member of the Firestone Country Club, Akron,
Ohio; The Club at Nevillewood, Nevillewood, Pennsylvania; Pete Dye Golf
Club, Bridgeport, West Virginia; Trump International, West Palm Beach,
Florida; and the PAA, Duquesne Club, and the Rivers Club all located in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Armand Dellovade has three children Denise, Michael, and Gary and six
grandchildren. |
